OUR WORK
Serving Northern Haiti With Food, Education, and Hope
Hearts for the Hungry serves vulnerable children and families in northern Haiti through practical care, trusted partnerships, and long-term commitment. Our work is centered on helping children access food, education, daily support, and hope for a brighter future.
We support children in school by helping provide daily meals - often the most reliable meal of the day. These meals do more than address hunger; they help children stay in school, focus in class, and continue building toward a stronger future.
School Meals
We believe education is one of the most important tools for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our ministry supports schools and children by helping create opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed, especially for families facing deep economic hardship and instability. Our support helps create places where children can learn in safety, dignity, and hope.
Education Support
Our work in Haiti depends on trusted local relationships built over many years. One of our most important partners is EBAC (Eglise Baptiste Action Chretienne) in Cap-Haitien, where Hearts for the Hungry began its work in 2004. Through EBAC, we can safely store food and supplies in our warehouse and support distribution to children and communities in need. This long-standing partnership strengthens both our daily ministry and our ability to respond in times of crisis.
Local Partnerships
In times of disaster and instability, we provide food, medical supplies, and essential support to hard-hit communities in northern Haiti. Even during seasons of political upheaval and insecurity, we continue working to deliver help where it is urgently needed.
Crisis Relief
During times of crisis, fast and reliable delivery matters. Getting help into Haiti takes more than donated goods. It takes trusted logistics, dependable partners, and the ability to respond quickly when conditions change.
Through our partnership with Feed My Starving Children, we receive donated food that helps feed children and families in Haiti. While the food itself is provided at no cost, the expense of exporting, shipping, clearing, and delivering that food into Haiti is significant and continues to rise.
Through our partnership with Missionary Flights International, we are able to move funds into Haiti quickly for emergency response, including the purchase of food and essential supplies in-country when shipping delays make imported aid slower to reach those in need. This partnership has been especially critical during times of crisis, allowing relief to move within weeks rather than waiting for longer shipping timelines.
Missionary Flights International flies into Haiti weekly, providing an important channel for timely support.
Through our long-standing partnership with EBAC in Cap-Haitien, we are also able to safely store food and supplies in the Hearts for the Hungry warehouse until they are distributed.
